Space Options

Update for the third sale. We hope to make this one bigger and better. Items people were asking to see were comics, gaming items, more vintage/retro stuff, antiques, coins and silver and military items. Help spread the word...

Vendors, we have listened to many of your suggestions, we have corrected some issues and are now offering smaller spaces for direct vendors. Scentsy is already taken. We have space open now for 5 food truck vendors!

Bring a can of dog or cat food and receive one entry for each can for a chance to win a $50 Gift Certificate to one of Rome's fine restaurants. Sponsors are also welcome to donate to the give-aways. All food will be donated to a local shelter. We have Purrs and Whiskers and Angels of Fur working on being present with adoptions. We have four tables available for community organizations, contact us if interested.

Copper City Sell Off

Welcome to the second, of what hopes to continue on monthly as Giant indoor Garage Sales from April – September. Brought to you by Roman Empire Productions, LLC, the founder, Pete Leonard has years of experience in antiques and collectibles. Many in the business know it is often a struggle to get people to stop at your own personal garage sale due to the number of them that occur in the summer months. You may not even know this but many sales get ranked in priority by buyers, which is why some sales do much better than others. Believe us there is power in numbers, what if collectively all those smaller sales are held in one location – it makes it easier for buyers to find you. Thus lead to the birth of the Copper City Sell Off.

Our third Copper City Sell Off is set to take place on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Kennedy Arena and Event Cent in Rome, New York (500 Embargo Street) from 8am – 6pm. Just in time for last minute Mother’s Day shopping!

That is where you come in, we are asking for help from everybody to help spread the word. If you came to the first one we thank you and hope to see you out again as we continue to expand the event. There are also many display, vendor, and spaces available to help promote your own organization. We have a limited amount of table space available for community organizations.

We chose the Kennedy Arena because it is in the heart of Rome, New York and has the capacity for us to make this event as big as possible, in addition to being very clean, well-lit and ample parking. Spaces are limited so if you are interested, don’t wait!

Vendor Contract

Contract Terms:

The vendor space being requested must be paid in full before the start of the event, at the signing of this contract. A space will only be considered reserved upon receipt of payment. Payments will be made to Roman Empire Productions, LLC. Should you need to cancel your reservation; no refunds will be granted after June 3, 2017 for any reasons.

Exhibitors must be in place by show opening and remain in place until at least 4pm. Positively no early packing up until the close of the event if attendees are still plentiful on the buying floor, excluding emergency events that may arise necessitating leave. Vendors will be permitted to set up during the times of 6:00am and 8:00am. To alleviate congestion we ask that those vendors assigned between #1-32 please arrive and unload between 6:00am-6:30am if possible. Then please move your vehicles when finished to make room for others. Spaces #33-69 please hold off unloading until 6:30am. The Event will open promptly to Early Bird ticket holders at 8:00am-10:00am. Early Bird ticket holders are generally considered interested parties wanting to “wheel and deal.” The general public will be allowed in from 10:00am and runs through 5:00pm. Vendors may begin breaking down starting at 4:00pm and must be off the property by 7:00pm.

Exhibitors shall not assign or sublet all or any part of said space for personal profit.

The exhibitor shall keep the said space in good order and repair. This is a public location that we are all guests at; as such it must remain in the same state you found it in when you leave. You will not be permitted to cause any damages internally (ie: hanging pictures or objects), disturbing items in place and etc, and likewise to the grounds /flooring. The exhibitor will be 100% liable for any damage caused by themselves or their help while on premises. The signer of this contract agrees that if a space is left in disrepair including the dumping or abandoning of garbage in said vendor area after the event will be subject to a mandatory minimum charge of $500 plus damages. Simply, what you bring in and don’t sell, you must take home with you.

By the acceptance of this agreement and request to reserve exhibitor space, the exhibitor expressly releases, Roman Empire Productions, LLC, Peter M. Leonard, the City of Rome, New York and their agents and employees, of and from any and all liability for any damage, theft, destruction, injury or loss to any person or goods for any cause whatsoever.

Registered Business Owners (ie: LLC, Corporation, etc…) and Full-time Event Vendors selling goods or services are required by law to display your New York State sales tax number and abide by all New York State sales tax collection rules. New York State sales tax at a rate of 8.75% should be charged on all sales in Rome, New York, unless exempted and it is the responsibility of the vendor to collect and pay such fees when due. “Garage Sale”/“one-time” vendors who are just selling once and are not considered a full-time business in New York State do not require a Tax ID number to reserve a space.

This event is being conducted indoors and will continue on as is, rain or shine. The event will take place on May 13, 2017 regardless of the weather unless cancelation is necessitated by emergency officials. No refunds will be granted for any reason for their (vendor) failure to show up on the day of the event for any reason.

Even though the event is indoors, per guidelines established by the venue, The Kennedy Arena Event Center and City of Rome, no pets or animals may be brought on site during this event. However, certified service animals are and will be allowed on site with owner supervision.

Prohibited items include any and all firearms, guns, pistols, rifles, air propelled guns and the like. Edged weaponry may be allowed as long as they are compliant with all State and City laws and ordinances. The same stipulations exist for swords. This will be enforced. Any personal safety devices currently outlawed or restricted in New York State and the City of Rome. Other items include any drug paraphernalia or smoking devices, tobacco, alcohol and similar products. No overtly racist, political or offensive items. Pyrotechnics, fireworks and any type of incendiary or explosive devices. Pornographic, adult or racy toys, pictures and movies. The “common sense rule of selling” – if you have to ask if it can be sold, it probably shouldn’t.

Roman Empire Productions, LLC has the exclusive right to reject any submitted application, for any reason at its sole discretion if it does not meet the merits of the event. Money received from rejected applications will be returned. Also this rule applies prior to the event opening, if items of a prohibitive nature are found, the vendor will be first asked to remove such items, or be expelled from this and all future events.

Vendor Space – With Electricity

12 x 12 Foot Wall Space $40 – Quantity: ____ (14 Spaces Available)

Indoor space will consist of a 12 feet by 12 feet square. No tables or chairs are provided, please provide your own. This is an indoor space only for you to set up as you wish to sell your items. You will be provided one connection for electricity, please bring additional cords as needed.


Vendor Space – Without Electricity

Indoor space will consist of a 12 feet by 12 feet square or 10 feet x 10 feet. No tables or chairs are provided, please provide your own. This is an indoor space only for you to set up as you wish to sell your items.


Outdoor Food Truck Space $65 (5 Spaces Available)

You must have a valid license from the Oneida County Health Department, all applicable City of Rome, Oneida County and New York State vendor licenses/permits and insurance. You must name Roman Empire Productions LLC as an additionally insured on your insurance for this event.


Community Organizational Table – (Only five available on a first come basis)

Indoor space will consist of one six foot table with two chairs. This is an indoor space only for you to set up, display as you wish.
